Brand Identity

 

Main concept for logo development:

  • Represents the unity of diverse culture (Far East + West).
  • Design, motion, and typography oriented.
  • Visually looks dynamic, bold, and determined.

INSPIRATION

PACKAGING FOR "SAKE":

I was born and raised in a city called Nishinomiya, which has a long history of production of Sake - Japanese alcoholic drink made out of rice.

I've always been fascinated by its packaging, especially the calligraphic typography:  dynamic and bold movement by stylized brush stoke.

BLACK LETTER:

In addition to its history, I find it visually the most charismatic, particular and interesting with the boldness and elegance among the western typographic style.

LOGO/MONOGRAM

R+礼

 

It consists of "R", and a part of a Kanji "" (a Kanji used for "REI" of "Reiko").

It represents the unity of Japanese culture and western one: more specifically, my personal life experience and way of being.

 

There are four variations:

  • Grayscale (main)
  • Negative
  • Colour
  • Black and white
